In 1917, Louis Canotas and Arthur Pappas—two immigrants from northern Greece—opened a candy store and ice cream shop in downtown Manchester. The store was an instant local hit. For nearly a century, Puritan ice cream has been known throughout New England for its texture, taste, and variety. While much of the ice cream industry has turned to mass production and artificial additives, we continue to produce our ice cream on premises—ten gallons at a time—using tried and true family recipes and premium ingredients. We are proud of the Puritan tradition and look forward to sharing one of our 50 flavors with you!
